2018 Benefit Dinner: Meet Our Keynote, David Bereit

Sep 5, 2018 | Benefit Dinner, Blog | 0 comments

Autumn in North Carolina is one of my favorite times of the year.  Leaves are changing, temperatures are dropping, and we are drowning in pumpkin spice everything. And if you’re the Advancement Director at the Care Center, you can’t help but get excited about the annual Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction that is just around the corner!

Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center will host the Annual Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction on Friday, October 12th at the Grandover Resort and Conference Center. The Silent Auction begins at 5:30 pm, and dinner will be served at 6:30 pm.  The dinner is always one of the highlights of the year, and I am sure that this year will not disappoint!

Our main focus is the celebration of life and the celebration of our clients.  Each table will be connected to one of our brave clients who chose life for her unborn child.  Guests will have the opportunity to see photographs at their tables and read stories of women and men who have been impacted by the ministry of the Care Center.

We are thrilled to welcome David Bereit as our keynote speaker!  David has been an outspoken pro-life advocate since 1998. He founded the 40 Days for Life organization, which is described as the “largest internationally coordinated pro-life mobilization in history.”

40 Days for Life focuses on three steps to bring people together in their local communities in the fight against abortion: Prayer & Fasting, Community Outreach, and Peaceful Vigil. You may remember one of our past Benefit Dinner speakers, Abby Johnson. She walked away from her job as a Planned Parenthood director as a direct result of the 40 Days for Life group that prayed outside of her clinic day after day.

Through the work of 40 Days for Life, over 750,000 volunteers have been mobilized in 769 cities across 50 nations to put an end to abortion; 96 abortion clinics have closed their doors, 177 clinic workers have quit their jobs, and over 14,600 lives have been saved.1

Over the summer, Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center started having a presence outside the abortion clinic in Greensboro. Our sidewalk advocates and staff nurses offer compassion, hope, and practical help to women and men seeking abortions. We are also trying to build relationships with the abortion clinic workers and volunteers.

When we first asked David Bereit to speak at this year’s Benefit Dinner, we had no idea that, just a few short months later, we’d be out on the front lines ourselves, proactively seeking to intervene in the lives of women who are literally taking the final steps towards abortion. We’re so excited and grateful that God has provided a keynote speaker who has been in our shoes and seen the fruit of his labor. We know it’s going to be an encouraging, inspiring, and motivating night!

So what are you waiting for? Mark your calendars and join us at the Grandover Resort on Friday, October 12! Tickets are available for purchase, and you can get yours by clicking here.
