This year, we raised…
That’s incredible… the most we’ve ever raised at a Walk for Life event!! This total includes sponsorship and other money raised through our event and after the event was over. Thank you for fueling the mission of the Care Center!
Sponsor the Event
We need sponsors to set a foundation of giving for our event! Please see the listed sponsorship levels. Contact us at 336-274-4901 to learn the benefits of sponsoring at each level. Check out our corporate sponsors below!
Client Sponsor: $1,200
It costs $1,200 to empower one mom to choose life for her child. Your sponsorship will directly impact one mom’s ability to choose life for her child. Our total goal for the Walk for Life event is to empower at least 125 moms. How many will you help?
Mobile Unit Sponsor: $750
It costs approximately $750 per day to run our mobile ultrasound unit. Your sponsorship will help ensure we can make abortion unnecessary out in our community for one day.
Health Services Sponsor: $500
Your sponsorship will ensure we can continue making abortion unnecessary through the free services we offer to people facing unplanned pregnancy. Health Services include pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and STD tests.
Day-of Sponsor: $300
Your sponsorship will ensure we can cover the costs of the Walk for Life fundraising event and still raise the additional funds we need to sustain our annual budget.
How To Raise Money
The best way to raise money is by forming a team of fundraisers. To form a team, designate a team leader to create your team and start rallying others to participate as team members (fundraisers). Team members actively raise money by contacting their friends and family to donate to them and/or the team. Then on walk day, your team comes to the event with money in-hand or already raised online. See below for two ways to collect money. Teams and individuals who raise the most money by Walk day (April 29) will win prizes!
2 Ways to Collect Money
1. Online: After registering with a team online, you and your teammates can contact friends, or share your page on social media and text messaging to start getting donations to your personal Walk for Life page, or your team page. This is the fastest and easiest way to raise money! You can keep track of your individual and team totals in real-time.
2. Collect Donations: You can use the donation form in our “Walkers Packet” to collect cash and checks. Be sure to fill out all the contact information for donors so we can process their gifts. Place the money in an envelope with the donation form enclosed and bring it on Walk day. (*If you need a Walkers Packet, swing by the Care Center to pick one up, or get one from your team leader.)
On walk day, make sure to bring all your collected cash and checks in an envelope with the donation form enclosed. Drop your money off at the check-in table and start stretching!
Prizes & Incentives
The following incentives will be given to fundraisers raising over the designated amounts for each item. They do build on each other, so depending on how much you raise, you could walk away with some serious swag! Prizes will be given to top walkers and teams. Prizes will be announced at the Walk for Life event.
Walk event t-shirt.
17 oz. H2go Force stainless steel, copper vacuum insulated thermal bottle.
Ogio® Duffle Bag. Great for short trips or going to the gym.
Any fundraiser reaching at least $3,600 will receive a Fitbit model of your choice and color, up to $150. The model shown here is the Fitbit Alta.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do if I can't make it to the Walk on Saturday, April 29?
If you can’t make it to the event, don’t worry! You can still help us raise money by joining a walk team. As a walk participant, your real race is to see who can raise the most money. You can raise money without coming to the event itself, though we’d love for you to be there if it’s possible. As long as you raise the funds and turn in all moneys before the beginning of the event, you’ll be eligible for top prizes.
What if I don't want to join a team but still want to come to the event?
It’s totally fine if you don’t want to join a team, but still want to come walk at our event. Walking in the event is free. However if you still want to register as an individual fundraiser to raise money on your own, you can do that, too. Just click on the “Register” button at the top of this webpage and select “I do not have a team” under the “My Team Is” dropdown menu on the registration form.
Where does my money go?
Funds you help raise allow the Care Center to continue offering free services to clients for the fiscal year. It takes nearly $1,200 to empower one mom to choose life for her child here at the Care Center. This year, our goal is $150,000. That’s equivalent to 125 moms. How many moms will you help?
This year’s walk will account for approximately 30% of our overall budget. Please help us meet this goal! We are always available to talk further, if needed. A detailed breakdown of our budget is available upon request. Help us empower more moms to choose life for their children!
Where can I turn in my offline money?
You can turn in money collected offline at the Care Center during normal business hours (9am-5pm) or on the morning of the Walk event at check-in.
What happens if it rains on Saturday, April 29?
Walk for Life takes place rain or shine. However, if weather conditions become dangerous, the event will be cancelled. Be sure to let your supporters know that the Care Center still needs their support, rain or shine. The real race is to see which team can raise the most money!
How do I (or how does my family) get a t-shirt?
If you have a family of walkers, make sure to register each member who wants a t-shirt so they can receive one by raising at least $100! That means if you’re bringing kids who want a t-shirt, make sure you register them, and have them ask friends, teachers, or family members to help them get to $100!
The easiest way to raise that $100 is for you to give $50, and for you to get one friend or family member to give $50. Or for you to give $20 and ask 4 people you know to give $20, etc. You can do it!
How long is the Walk?
The walk is about 2 miles. If this is too far, just go part of the way and come back to Center City Park for refreshments and prizes.
What should participants wear?
Participants should wear loose-fitting clothing (in layers to accommodate temperature changes), cotton or wool socks and walking or tennis shoes. For people who have special health needs or young children, bring any prescription medications or snacks in case an appropriate one is not provided.
How do I get supporters?
Participants get supporters by asking! No one will support you if you fail to ask them. Many people are supported by co-workers, friends, family, neighbors, and local businesses. Some companies also sponsor their employees, or provide matching gifts.
Why should I use online fundraising?
Participants who use online fundraising raise 3 to 4 times the amount of money than those who do not. It is safe and secure, and you don’t need to handle cash or deposit checks. Send the link to your fundraising page (or your team fundraising page) to friends and family via text message, email, or on social media!
