Intern Positions Available

Much like our volunteer positions, internships are very helpful to the mission of the Care Center. These committed positions may be paid or unpaid; but either way, will help develop candidates for greater success in a future professional setting. We love pouring into the next generation of laborers!

Requirements for Consideration

  2. Staff will ask for a letter of intent and resumé.
  3. If you are qualified to proceed, will be given an internship application to complete.
  4. Following the application process, you will be contacted for a formal interview.
  5. A final consideration and formal letter of acceptance will be written for those candidates who qualify.
  6. If you are accepted, you must participate in the Care Center’s 15-hour volunteer training, with further training, as needed.

Client Services Intern Position Description

The person in this position will report to and work directly with the Client Services Director. Duties of this position include the following: Becoming familiar with the mission and services of the Care Center and communicating them to clients clearly, compassionately, and professionally; Answering phone inquiries and scheduling client appointments; Planning and implementing at least one in-service training for site volunteers; Assisting the Client Services Director with various program development and project implementation; Shadowing peer advocates as they meet with clients for pregnancy tests, STI appointments, and ultrasound appointments; Shadow and assess classes offered at the Care Center, including Parenting, Relationship Reality, Abortion Recovery, and The 5 Love Languages (shadowing experiences depend on availability of classes); Performing office tasks as needed (data entry, filing, making copies, and other office projects); Serving as a peer advocate by meeting with clients (only if the intern is approved and cleared by CSD); Assisting in other departments of the Care Center as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be a student at a college or university majoring in Social Work, Human Development and Family Studies, Public Health, or another related field (if major does not fall into these categories, applicant must discuss with Client Services Director)
  • Intern must be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
  • Applicant must agree with and be willing to uphold the Statement of Principle, Statement of Faith, and policies of the Center
  • Applicant must complete the Care Center volunteer training
  • Applicant must demonstrate dependability by being punctual for shifts and submitting work/projects on time

Outreach Intern Position Description

The Outreach Intern reports to, and works directly with, the Outreach Director. Duties of this position include the following: Becoming familiar with the mission and services of the Care Center and communicating them to community contacts/clients clearly, compassionately, and professionally; Assisting the Outreach Director with various program development and project implementation, including Make Up Your Own Mind®, In the Know®, and Integrity. This may include: Making phone calls to potential community contacts and clients; Helping to lead and mentor younger college students in our student organization; Leading our In the Know® program in various venues, and coordinating other In the Know® volunteers to assist; Carrying out other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be a student at a college or university majoring in Social Work, Human Development and Family Studies, Public Health, or another related field (if major does not fall into these categories, applicant must discuss with Outreach Director)
  • Intern must be a committed Christian who demonstrates a real surrender to, and personal relationship with, God through Jesus
  • Applicant must agree with and be willing to uphold the Statement of Principle, Statement of Faith, and policies of the Care Center
  • Applicant must complete the Care Center volunteer training in its entirety
  • Applicant must demonstrate dependability by being punctual for assigned hours, events, and submitting work/projects on time

Development Intern Position Description

The Development Intern reports to, and works directly with, the Development Director, in association with the Events Manager. Duties of this position include the following: Becoming familiar with the mission and services of the Care Center and communicating them to community contacts clearly, compassionately, and professionally; Assisting the Development Director and Events Manager with various fundraising events or campaigns. This may include the following: Making phone calls to potential partners/donors; Participating in fundraising events as needed; Researching potential donors; Carrying out other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be a student at a college or university majoring in a related field (such as Marketing, or Communications, or Business Development)
  • Intern must be a committed Christian who demonstrates a real surrender to, and personal relationship with, God through Jesus
  • Applicant must agree with and be willing to uphold the Statement of Principle, Statement of Faith, and policies of the Care Center
  • Applicant must complete the Care Center volunteer training in its entirety
  • Applicant must demonstrate dependability by being punctual for assigned hours, events, and submitting work/projects on time
